I doubt there is just one..

And the concept is ridicilous? Yes it is, as well as it is in Alien, Terminator, 2001 and every SciFi i´ve ever seen.. There is no physics that allow us to travel with lightspeed, to phone home in no time or be as near to a star not beeing crushed by gravity - we will never ever see an alien as well as we see our sun dying.. before that we killed ourselves anyway.. It appears SciFi is always more fiction than science - so what?

What is it with the "stolen scenes"? In times when almost everything that is thought is worked up in a movie its impossible not to copy - and some copies appear to be better than the original. And by the way, it´s not Gene Roddenberrys idea that the needs of many outweight the needs of one - its just common-sense..

The space suit - what would you paint it? Pink? Gold appears to be the best reflective and therefore protective surface..

Enough critics on the critics:
I liked the film because of its pictures - i remember no film that showed me the sun and mercury in this beauty, do you? There where several documentations about the sun on tv but not on a 40 meter screen! I also like the critic on religious fanatism as well as on a few making decisions that affect every lifeform on this planet..Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21995284.post-1176239100886145102007-04-10T22:05:00.000+01:002007-04-10T22:05:00.000+01:00The whole starting concept is ridicilous anyway: t...The whole starting concept is ridicilous anyway: the sun's gone out, restarting it with an a-bomb is like hoping to restart a nuclear reactor by striking a match to its outside.Martin Wissehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04612094541576041276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21995284.post-1176200945138081982007-04-10T11:29:00.000+01:002007-04-10T11:29:00.000+01:00Re: Sunshine. Truly lame indeed!!

Instead of badly grappling with sun burned demon they shoulda sprayed Factor 500+ suntan cream at it with the lines, "Take that evil demon and have some After Sun as well"....Louisefeministahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08279991897445225597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21995284.post-1176199756586549562007-04-10T11:09:00.000+01:002007-04-10T11:09:00.000+01:00Though in saying that about Aliens I do think it i...Though in saying that about Aliens I do think it is fantastic to watch on the big screen (ok... for a squel it is good)And indeed it has a woman character like Pvt Vasquez who gives the chaps a run for their money in chin-ups, holding her own very well and rescuing the chaps in peril (makes a change!!).

Cameron has a thing about creating strong muscle bound women (Terminator 2 ... Linda Hamilton who pumps iron while in hospital and gets her revenge on that vile psychiatrist).Louisefeministahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08279991897445225597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21995284.post-1176198331196554842007-04-10T10:45:00.000+01:002007-04-10T10:45:00.000+01:00Yeah well, John Hurt didn't last for that long.......Yeah well, John Hurt didn't last for that long............. But I still think Alien had a good critique of capitalism and Cameron just relies on shooting up aliens by hot-shot military types (there probably is a message somewhere deep in the bowels in the film but he was probably thinking about Terminator).

Children of Men had appalling reviews when it came out BUT even when reviews are positive don't believe them! And that's the film with Michael Caine and the hippie look..

Blimey, never thought I'd say this but I thought the film Armageddon was far far more entertaining than Sunshine.Louisefeministahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08279991897445225597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21995284.post-1176197335199043082007-04-10T10:28:00.000+01:002007-04-10T10:28:00.000+01:00I actually preferred Aliens to Alien. For one thing...I actually preferred Aliens to Alien.

For one thing, no John Hurt in Alliens, a big plus for any film.

BTW - I saw Children of Men last week - and that was possible the worst film I have ever seen.ANhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05901425044840795347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21995284.post-1176196848778108552007-04-10T10:20:00.000+01:002007-04-10T10:20:00.000+01:00Ok, Rob.... Aliens was not half bad for a sequel (even if it was James Cameron and a "shoot 'em up" kind of film... )

28 Days Later wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Boyle/Garland foray into horror but without the horror and suspense. Stick to films like Shallow Grave and Trainspotting.

Shaun of the Dead was much much better.

I am with Anon, Sunshine truly dire and what gives with these witless critics like Mark Kermode, Peter Bradshaw and Philip French who think it is an intellectual metaphysical journey.

Oh pleeaassse, as someone said, it is more Red Dwarf than Solaris...Louisefeministahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08279991897445225597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21995284.post-1176194829484079252007-04-10T09:47:00.000+01:002007-04-10T09:47:00.000+01:00"Aliens" wasn't shoddy. The other sequels were admi..."Aliens" wasn't shoddy. The other sequels were admittedly.
I thought "28 Days Later" took itself far too seriously and was very, very dull so I don't think I'll bother with sunshine.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21995284.post-1176166435163354952007-04-10T01:53:00.000+01:002007-04-10T01:53:00.000+01:00Sunshine has to be the worst film I've seen in yea...Sunshine has to be the worst film I've seen in years.
